Dane Bowers News

After a hard morning's training, the celebrities took a well-deserved break to try Soccer AM's Crossbar Challenge.
The Celebrity Squad took a break from the rigours of training this morning to face Soccer AM's Crossbar Challenge. And a number of the Celebs had a keep uppy challenge, with mixed results.

Anthony Hutton, desperate to stay in the squad and play at his beloved St James' Park had a tough task to overtake Will Mellor who kept the ball up for a count of 77. Undaunted, Anthony scored a magnificent 143!

Iwan Thomas was next, managing a respectable 32, but pity poor Dane Bowers whose count of 8 is barely worth a mention.

Nick Pickard won't thank us for recording the paltry two he managed, but Sam Robertson will also be hoping his magnficent 111 will help to get him off the bench.

There was further shame for Bowers in the Crossbar Challenge, where players are asked to hit the crossbar from distance. It's not as easy as it sounds but Dane's effort will ensure he won't be in charge of any dead ball situations in the near future. His shot fell embarrassingly short, but there were other notable misses.

Thomas Craig, serenaded with "Be Bop A-Lula" by the rest of the squad after his rendition at the previous evening's karaoke challenge, made a shocking rickett of his attempt. And Phil Tufnell won't be bragging about his shot.

There were one or two good efforts, but you'll have to wait to see Soccer AM to find out whether anyone succeeded, and why Luther Blissett was buried under a pile of Celebs at the end of the challenge.
