The celebrities took time out to today to visit sick children in one of the region's hospitals.

Despite having the biggest game of their lives looming on the horizon, The Celebs took
time out to visit a local hospital and put a smile on the faces of children at the Royal
Victoria Infirmary.
Jonathan Wilkes spent plenty of time shaking hands and lifting spirits, but his own
spirits were lifted when he found a lad who had actually heard of Port Vale, the club he
supports.
Darren Campbell was a favourite of the patients and staff alike and signed plenty of
autographs. And local boy Anthony Hutton was in demand with all the kids wanting to meet
him.
Harvey proved to be fantastic with children, asking them lots of questions, encouraging
them and making them laugh. He was sympathetic to a lad who had been bitten by an
Alsatian, as he had a similar injury as a youngster.
When Harvey met Rebecca, 9, he made her day, giving her a hug and telling her how sweet
she was. She had been hospitalised for an eye complaint, but couldn't stop smiling as
Harvey charmed her. Rebecca was also chuffed to meet Danny Young, who she recognised from
Coronation Street.
Danny was less pleased when Luther suggested that Leon, 3, was tall enough to take his
right back berth in the team. The youthful defender entertained the patients though,
riding in a toy car that made even him look big.
Harvey and Nick Pickard cheered up Connor, 11, a Sunderland fan who has got six months of
treatment to endure. Harvey told him to "stay strong" and complimented his mum on her
brave son.
All in all it was a heart-warming visit for both the Celebs and the kids.
