Although he's the youngest celebrity in the Training Camp, Danny is still well prepared for the challenge ahead
|
How do you feel about facing the Legends?
I'm very excited. The thing is, as I'm the youngest, some of these Legends I've
never actually seen play. I know that they're Legends, but I've not seen them. But
I'm really excited about playing in front of 52,000 people. That's the ultimate
buzz.
How's the spirit in the camp?
Very excitable. Everyone's getting on well. There's a lot of banter going on. Last
night I was a bit nervous but now I've settled in, everything's cool.
Who are you rooming with?
Harvey and D.C.
Anyone in particular you're looking forward to facing?
I was really looking forward to playing Ian Wright, but he's not playing. I'm a
big Arsenal fan, so Nigel Winterburn I want to play against. And Gazza. I've
played with Gazza before but never against him.
How do find the Gaffer?
Graham seems to be lovely. Obviously there's not a lot of speaking because of the
manager-player relationship but he seems like a lovely feller.
He's very funny too.
He is funny. But he's got his head set on the job. Same as Luth. Everyone just
wants to win. Everyone knows we're here to have a laugh, but the bottom line is,
we've got a job to do.
Are you confident you can win?
From what I know of last year, there's some younger players here, some better
players, so we've got an improved squad. But so have they. They've got David
Batty, who's young. And they're training for four days, so it's going to be a good
one.
Do you think that shows they're a little more concerned about you?
I think we damaged their pride last year. I think they were expecting to stonk us
6-0. I think 2-1 damaged their pride.
And if Danny has his way they'll be hurting even more after next Sunday.
