The Celebs have gone to the dogs to enjoy a flutter and an evening's greyhound racing that included The Match Celebrity Stakes.
The Celebrity Squad had a great night at the dogs watching The Match Celebrity Stakes at Brough Park.

The six greyhounds lining up for the big race were The Gaffer, Pass McGuiness, Great Dane, Tuffers' Luck, Shephard's Pie and Hutton Bothered. Great Dane was the hot favourite and with several of the Celebs laying money on it, the odds tumbled to 5/4.

Phil Tufnell naturally had a punt on Tuffers' Luck but was slightly insulted by the 10/1 odds, admitting he had "no chance" with the outsider.

The race reached a thrilling climax after Hutton Bothered made the early running. Roared on by a host of celebrity backers, including Ralf Little, Iwan Thomas, Will Mellor and Dane himself, the favourite came on strong in the final straight to force an exciting photo finish.

Hutton Bothered was confirmed as the winner, causing Dane Bowers to be on the receiving end of some terrible stick from Little and Mellor.

Anthony Hutton didn't fare much better as the lads jokingly booed him as went to meet the winning dog. "You're stealing a living!" they yelled.

In an earlier race Ben Shephard had a winner with Blonde Boss. "Always put your money on a blonde boss," he told us. Jones, Little, Olivier and Alexander also backed the winning dog and celebrated like they'd won the World Cup, chanting "Easy, easy."

The bets were modest, prompting one bookie to moan, "I think the Celebs have come out without any money."

Tommy Craig regretted not backing Blues Buddy in honour of his beloved Sheffield Wednesday when the dog ran in a winner. And Will Mellor nearly exploded when his dog romped home in the last race.

Not everyone was up on the evening, but they all had a great night's entertainment.
