BIOGRAPHY
While Viv created history playing for England against Czechoslovakia, his status as a footballing legend is based on a glittering career for Arsenal, Manchester United and especially Nottingham Forest. With Forest he won two European Cups as a tough tackling, but attacking, full back in Clough's side.
After ten years at Forest, Anderson moved to Highbury before becoming Sir Alex Ferguson's first signing for Manchester United. Nicknamed "the spider" for his long legs, Anderson was a fearsome defender whose raids down the right flank brought him and his teams plenty of goals. In 1997, 96% of Forest fans voted him the best right back in the club's history.
