BIOGRAPHY
Peter Shilton is England’s most capped player having represented his country 125 times. That record is all the more remarkable considering he shared the No1 jersey with Ray Clemence for many years. Shilton also became the first player in the country to make 1000 league appearances.
After Brian Clough signed him for Nottingham Forest, he won a League title, two European Cups and the League Cup, whilst establishing himself as one of the best keepers in the world. For England, he was the keeper beaten by Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ goal in the 1986 World Cup.
