BIOGRAPHY
Still revered as a god on the South Coast, Matt Le Tissier had class to burn. Le Tiss had the ability to score goals that no one else could. His performances for Southampton included outrageous ball-juggling, baffling dribbling, exquisite volleys and tons of spectacular goals.
Rare in modern day footballers, Le Tiss was a one-club legend. His manager, Dave Merrington, described him as "a genius". No wonder, he scored over 200 goals for the Saints, many of them dipping volleys from outside the box. With skills no one could teach or emulate, it was inevitable Le Tiss would play for England. He cracked in 30 goals in one season at Southampton and was a unique talent feared by defences throughout the land.
