A Bible for the incurably paranoid
We live in a world fraught with danger. Every day we do things that are potentially hazardous, but don't give them a second thought… We cross the road, take a bath, do the ironing, go on holiday, throw away old mail, mow the lawn, take a shower, cook a meal, surf the internet and go to the shops.
So You Think You're Safe…? explores the hidden dangers of going about your daily routine, and offers advice on how to avoid those dangers. The programme will be a mixture of interviews, reconstruction, statistical analysis, scientific exploration and experimentation, reportage and archive footage.
All of this will be held together by our presenter, introducing each story from a different location, and their co-presenter, driving the scientific experiments and being the 'eyes on the ground'.
Each episode will deal with a different, fascinating and familiar subject. The subjects will be handled with authority, humour, consideration and a genuine desire to inform and educate. We'll delve into the worlds of bacteria, insects, bodily fluids, nasty accidents, extreme misfortune and the perils of modern living.
Not only will the programme be filled with human interest stories, morbid curiosity, scientific endeavour and intelligent journalism, but also with practical advice for the viewer to avoid any of these dangers themselves.
