Liz Bonnin
Liz was born in France to a French father and Trinidadian mother and moved to Ireland when she was 10 years old. After school she studied Biochemistry at Trinity for 4 years. Despite graduating second in her year with honours, she turned her back on science and decided to pursue a career in the music business!
As writer and lead singer, Liz joined a girl band called Chill, got signed by Polydor Records and went on tour with the Smash Hits Roadshow, performing in arenas all around England alongside the likes of All Saints and Five.
It was while she was in the band that she was asked to present the IRMA'S - Ireland's music awards. Soon after this Liz interviewed Robbie Williams for a special one-off programme on RTE. By this time Liz was enjoying television much more than being in a girl band, and so she returned to Dublin from London and began working for RTE as a children's presenter. During that time she presented Backstage at Party in the Park from London, Backstage at the Childline Concert and was then asked to front Tellybingo, one of Ireland's National Lottery programmes, which transmitted prime time every Friday night.
At the end of 1999 she co-presented The Millennium Show with Late Late Show host Pat Kenny, a live, 7 hour programme which was part of the BBC Worldwide link-up.
In 2002, Liz moved to London, and since then she has presented Terminator 3, a half-hour special for ITV1 and ITV2, co-presented Party In the Park and Spring Break Live for Channel 5. A regular guest presenter of Top of the Pops and The Holiday Programme on BBC1, she also presented Techno Games for BBC2 in March 2003, and worked on Channel 4's breakfast show RI:SE as entertainment reporter and in-studio presenter.
She is currently presenting the entertainment show Celebrity Extra (Banana Split Prods) for Living TV and Euro Millions (TWI), Friday evenings on Sky One.
