 Up for auction
The boys may have reached the end of the road when they arrived at their final destination of New York, but there was still one final thing to do: auction the bikes!
With a special dinner laid on back in London, attended by both Ewan and Charley, almost £200,000 was raised for UNICEF, CHAS (Children's Hospice Association of Scotland) and Macmillan Cancer Relief.
The evening's highlight, however, had to be the auction of Ewan McGregor's BMW R1150 GS Adventure - the motorcycle that kept Ewan from harm's way on the trip. It was the clear favourite among the bidders, and eventually went for £8,500. But the bikes weren't the only memorabilia going under the hammer with photographs of the trip, taken by Julian Broad and signed by Ewan and Charley also up for sale.
All in all it was a great night that paid tribute to the journey of a lifetime.
