Episode 1 - El Salvador
Within a population smaller than London there are nearly 8000 murders a year. Well over half of these are gang related. And in El Salvador the gangs don’t get any bigger than Mara Salvatrucha or MS 13. Considered by the Americans to be ‘the most dangerous gang in the world’ MS 13 has 100,000 members spread across 33 North American states and throughout Central America This gang is responsible for murders, extortion, rape, drugs and arms smuggling. The gang originated among Salvadoran immigrants living in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Episode 2 – Cape Town
South Africa’s ferocious Number gang thrives in the country’s overcrowded prisons. Nowhere is their power more potent than Cape Town’s Pollsmoor High Security Prison where gang members subject new arrivals to violent attacks and gang rapes as part of their brutal initiations. On leaving prison many gang members inhabit the desolate ‘Cape Flats’ region (or ‘Cape of Fear’ as it is also known due to the reign of terror that the gang exercises over the local population). Statistically it is the most dangerous place to live in South Africa. With alcoholism rampant in the area (possibly as a result of its proximity to the nearby wine growing region), the fierce-some Number gang is heavily involved in drug dealing, extortion and prostitution.

Episode 3 – St Louis
St. Louis is home to one of America’s most active and aggressive gang cultures. Young men are dying on the streets of the city at the rate of one every two weeks, helping make it one of the 5 most violent places in the US. Ross Kemp discovers that the local gangs have taken their influence from the legendary Crips and Bloods of LA and put their own St Louis spin on things. This has resulted in the emergence of hundreds of small outfits fighting vicious turf wars on the ghetto streets from which they conduct their business as drugs dealers and petty criminals.

Episode 4 – Moscow
Ross uncovers the extent to which the Nazi, or National Socialist, groups are gaining power in Russia: it would seem that at best the police turn a blind eye to racism, at worse actively endorse it. And Ross meets one Member of Parliament who openly promotes Nazi ideology. Ross joins one Neo Nazi group during their training and through a series of tests -which include him being set on fire - he gains their trust. They invite him back to their secret headquarters where he meets some seriously disturbing individuals and uncovers the heart of their violent organisation
