Synopsis

Show Overview

Strap on your safety goggles, boys and girls: Science's greatest and most volatile show is back with a vengeance. The multi award-winning Brainiac: Science Abuse returns to Sky One - bigger, louder and more mischievous than ever! Comic genius Vic Reeves grabs hold of the presenter reigns with his inimitable anarchic energy and gusto, while Brainiac stalwarts Jon Tickle and Charlotte Hudson tag along for the breathless ride through the wild world of the weird and wonderful. This brand new series sees Vic and the team delve fearlessly into the mysteries of science, doing all of the experiments that teachers are just far too scared to demonstrate.

Brainiac: Science Abuse will seek out answers to those scientific questions that have forever puzzled mankind: How hard is water if you fall on it from a great height? What makes the best DIY earthquake? Is meringue really the best DIY firesuit? Vic Reeves will be unveiling a string of new characters on his quest for knowledge, including Russian scientist Uri Abusikov, while the intrepid Jon Tickle will lay his life-and-limb on the line to test his mettle in a series of all new hair-raising stunts.

Explosive

This explosive fifth series will premiere a host of new experiments, from the earth shattering 'Stuff NASA Never Tried', in which Vic will hit the launch pad and strap rockets to the most unlikely of objects, to 'Undercover Brainiac', in which Charlotte Hudson presides over hidden camera experiments on unsuspecting members of the public. No one is safe when the sneaky squad of systematic scientists comes knocking…especially celebrities! Yes, even the glamorous set gets the Science Abuse treatment this year. In 'Celebrity Day Job Electrocution', the Brainiac team gets to test a group of celebrities' - from Lady Isabella Hervey and Ricardo, to Rick Waller and Eric Knowles - ability to perform their jobs whilst being turned into human electricity conductors.

Back For Good

Returning favourites include 'Brainiac for a Day', where viewers get to blow up an item of their choice, and 'I Can Do Science Me', where Charlotte judges yet another pitiful parade of would-be scientists. Finally, no series of Brainiac worth its Bunsen Burners would be complete without a whole lot of caravans being blown to bits; and rest assured, a whole host of mobile homes get the TNT treatment in the new series. This series of Brainiac: Science Abuse has truly got something for everyone, so don't miss a minute of the madness!
