The event is the brainchild of Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both keen golfers, and features Colin Montgomerie and Mark O'Meara as the non-playing captains of the European and US teams respectively. The All*Star Cup will be presented by Kirsty Gallacher and Jamie Theakston.

The All*Star Cup will see two teams of 10 celebrities from Europe and the US taking part in the ultimate golfing tournament over the Roman Road course at The Celtic Manor Resort, South Wales, venue of the 2010 Ryder Cup Matches. The All*Star Cup features an array of stars from both sides of the Atlantic ready to do battle on the golf course.

Commenting on The All*Star Cup, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said: "This is Gallowgate's first production and it couldn't be more exciting, we're looking forward to putting on a fantastic event along with TWI for Sky One."

Montgomerie added: "I have been involved, and very much enjoyed working on The All*Star Cup from the outset and I look forward to Captaining the European Team in August."

The All*Star Cup will feature a comprehensive introduction to the players that will dominate the Sky One schedule over the Bank Holiday weekend. On Saturday 27 August we’ll capture the arrival of the two star-studded teams as hundreds of fans gather to catch a glimpse of their favourite celebrities during the Practice Day. The day will also incorporate footage of the celebs providing personal insights into their preparations for the most nerve-wracking weekend of their lives. Finally, we'll meet the captains and get their thoughts and predictions for the match. The show will culminate with the two captains revealing their pairings for the opening matches live on-air.

Over the course of the next two days Sky One will provide extensive coverage of the tournament, making sure that every shot - from glorious eagle putts to unfortunate duffs - will be covered. However, unlike conventional golf tournaments, The All*Star Cup coverage will offer enhanced access to the players and captains producing a major sporting occasion as a unique entertainment spectacle.

Sky Interactive will also be offering the chance for two viewers to be VIP guests at The All*Star Cup on Monday 28 August. The winners will have the chance for team-captains, Monty and O'Meara, to play an exciting challenge for them. Nearest the pin will win a holiday – while a hole in one would guarantee a cash prize of £1m (Shoot for a Million).
